Australian professional Perry Somers won the 2009 Open de
France Hickory with 74 playing a 1 under Par 75. Perry will play also the World Hickory and is a very promising player of this season.
Randy
Jensen from the USA won the Silver medal with a 76, two strokes after his competitor. Played very well as usual and paired his competitor until the 16th with a birdie but lost the finish with two bogeys on 17th and 18th.
David
Kirkwood at 64 won with 78 strokes the bronze scratch medal only four strokes of the Leader and two of his challenger and this makes the most remarked score of the French Hickory. David showed he could stand the comparison with PGA Professionals.
David Kirkwood is also the hero of this Hickory season as under his leadership of Captain of BGCS Europe team he won the Hickory Grail (see bellow)

Europe won the Hickory grail in Falsterbo The British Golf Collectors Society invited by the Swedish Society of Golf historians played the
traditional hickory grail against the United States on August 30th /
31st at Falsterbo GK in Sweden. Europe team won under the leadership of David Kirkwood. This was the most important hickory golf happening in term of number of players.
A Swedish player, Claes Kvist holds the trophy very proudly as he was already confident a few months ago.
